Weird symptom:

I hit "Submit" after typing a new post. The post window disappears (like normal), but then the IE window just sits there, churning. After a while, I'll get a "The page cannot be displayed" screen.

When I got back to check the forum, I can see my post.

Anyone else had this problem?

EDIT: Only happens on our forums (inconclusive). This post just went up fine.
Does this happen every time?

I believe so, yea.

I haven't tested it with other users, though.

EDIT: Funny. It just happened in this reply. Something different between creating a new post and replying, maybe? Lemme try creating a new post back on my site.
k, fess up, Chopster. You fixed something, right? It works fine now.

I made a speculative tweak. If it fixed for you, that's pretty awesome.

OMG I'm going to have to start using that at work when an outage miraculously resolves and no one says they did anything to fix it.

Jack Burton: Hey, what more can a guy ask for?
Egg Shen: Oh, a six-demon bag!
Jack Burton: Terrific, a six-demon bag. Sensational. What's in it, Egg?
Egg Shen: Wind, fire, all that kind of thing!
hehe...glad you liked my choice of language

It is true though, I made a tweak to the javascript to see what exactly that would change, if anything. Apparently it worked, but we'll see.

The change was actually pretty stupid: Isntead of closing the post window and refreshing the thread page immediately, I put a half-second wait in there.

Pretty silly that that's the kind of hack needed to fix IE. I have no idea WHY that would make a difference, but it seemed like something to try.

That term is definitely going into my vocab.

I dunno why it worked, but it did. Thanks again, Chops!
