Ok - This is my first time using your DKP system for anything other than Suicide Kings, and my first time using any other DKP system at all. So please bare with me.

So we used a Zero Sum system. GRSS tracked all the items that dropped (thank you!!!).
It was a little confusing when I went to shard something as I guess on giving the enchanter the cost of 0 for both the item and then the shards.
It was tough fighting Romeo and Julliete and having the mod take a snap shot after each one died which lagged me out in the game. I fixed that by turning off auto snapshots.
I had to come to the forums to determine that I needed to put the points in on each boss kill so that they would would get re-distributed back out (even though there is a check box in the DKP definition that says this should happen).

Now I am left with the following question. Why did GRSS show everyone had spent 1 point when I got the list downloaded with the EXE? It doesn't seem to be affecting the bottom line, but I do see it in the spent category which is confusing people (and me) as to why it is needed and why it is there.

Then we have the negative DKP situation. It is not reflected correctly in the standings at all:

If you take me for example:

I had 10 points before the raid, and the raid zero sum distribution netted me 19.25 points. So even though it is showing I "spent" 1, it is not affecting my Current total. That is odd.

Then if you look at Kaion:

He spent 12.5 DKP tonight (reflected as 13.5). He also had 10 DKP from prior runs. He also earned 19.25 points. So he should have 16.75 not 2.17? Why is this?

And lastly if you take Oxionna:

He had 0 DKP before tonight. He spent 60 (reflected as 61), and also earned 19.25. He should be at -40.75.

Help me understand what I am doing wrong.

Head to Admin, and click "Edit" next to your DKP System. Then Uncheck the box labeled "Total is determined by Dividing Earned by Spent (primarily for EPGP)".

This is what's causing that problem for you.

What is that check box supposed to do then? Because we are using a "Total is determined by dividing earned by Spent" Zero Sum system. It didn't auto devide the points spent in game, I had to add them in manually which seemed counter intuitive.
If we uncheck this, what do we loose?

And I unchecked it as you directed, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything to fix Kaion's score that I listed above because this is what it is still showing:

Oh no, that box means that:

Total DKP = EarnedDKP/SpentDKP.

I see where the confusion lies. That total is for what appears on the Current Standings. So if someone has earned 15 DKP and has spent 5 DKP, then that person's total would be 3.

DKP, in it's traditional forum is additive/subtractive: Total = Earned - Spent.

All that was missing was having clicked the "Innaccurate? Recalculate" link at the top of your Current Standings page. I clicked that, and Kaion's total is now 16.75. You numbers should look right.


As a further clarification, the "Total Determined by Division" terminology is in reference to the current standings, rather than the earning process. For enacting zero sum, that is performed with the Redistribute Points field on the upload and raid recording, which I'm sure you've also been using.

Wow - thank you for clarifying that as that checkbox was not what we thought it was.

So I guess the point distribution is always going to be a post raid GRSS upload and then manual addition and point spread on to the various boss kills? I say this because the snapshots are taken when the boss(es) die, and not when the loot is handed out. I.E. I guess there is no way to go back and retroactive add the points into a boss kill/snapshot from zero sum until you get to the website.
