Chops, the new Raid Avail. is a cool feature. However, it would be WAY more valuablhe if you produced a graph based on the data. I'm thinking of something like, assign a 1 point value to each hour. (In otherwords, it's a Bit comparison). For the hour spans I sign up for, add a 1 for each hour "slot" and a 0 for the remainders.
Then everyone can be added up per hour/ per day.

You can then either post like the above, or do a graphical TOTAL graph (Bar graph) for display. This doesn't mean replace anything you've already done, but rather add a "TOTALS" report to the current functionality.
The above shows me that from 3-8pm.. and specifically 5-6pm are my best Raiding hours on Mondays. If I had other days to compare, I could also easily determine that Mondays were better than Tuesdays, if the largest Hour Total I had was a 2 on Tuesdays.

So your saying that you would click on Friday in the current display for example and it would then produce the graph or the graph would be available by default for every day of the week?
also it might make the graph look cleaner if you map it in Military time on 24hr clock.
-- Six Demon Bag Jack Burton: Hey, what more can a guy ask for? Egg Shen: Oh, a six-demon bag! Jack Burton: Terrific, a six-demon bag. Sensational. What's in it, Egg? Egg Shen: Wind, fire, all that kind of thing!

Um... I don't really have a preference per'se.
Show them all... Don't show each day until clicked... Show totals for each day only and allow each day to be clicked for graph detail (ie. each person's individual settings for that day)... any other idea..
I don't really care. Pick one of the above and go with it. I just think this idea in general makes it easier to schedule raids. I WILL say that at SOME level we'll need to see the detail, whether it is all the time, or just when a day is clicked. Here's why: If I have 50 raid members, and a 3 hour span with 40 online, but none of that 40 are my tanks... I have a problem. The graphs tell you when most people are online, but they don't tell you (without the detail) what classes are online.
This will not only assist with raid scheduling, but also with recruiting since if the most of your members are online at a certain time, but you're missing a specific class for that period, you can focus on recruiting members of that class for that time period.
I would like to see this, or a similar method for tracking availability, implemented, so Im bringing the thread back to attention
It definitely does this.
Click one of the Day tabs above the Raid Availability box and it'll break down availability by class and a total number, and it's done in half-hour increments.
yes, but its from X:XX to X:XX rather than, X:XX, X:XX, but not X:XX, then back at X:XX I.E. A player is available in the morning, after waking up, for a couple hours, then has work/school/whatever, then is again available in the evening for a few more hours before needing to go to bed. The system, as it is, is very simple and not very detailed. Sure, it goes in half hour increments, but its only useful in 1 block of availability per day.
EDIT: When I first read the OP, I thought the poster was meaning the user could say which half hour blocks he/she was available, rather than selecting a block. I was meaning something more like:
