I would like to assign a particular rank for people who just sign up with an account/apply to our guild. How can I do this?

I understand that the applicant account is a special account that cannot be edited. But I'd like to give it a specific rank called "Applicant". Currently it gets "Alt".

I went ahead and tweaked that for you. That does give rise to the interesting question about how much info about the application account should be changeable.
