I can't seem to find where I can set it so that our recurring events require approval to the raid. Can you please point me in the right direction?

Right at the top of Admin > Event Schedule is a checkbox "Approval Required for Signups"

Right now, it's a universal setting, affecting all events.

With the coming change in a few weeks, it's going to be changed to a per-event, or per-recurring-event basis.
