All told I have 9 characters associated with my login profile (1 main and 8 alts). However, most of the alts are bank mules that I would rather not have displayed.
How can I control the number of characters in the login profile?

If they are just bank mules, you can dissassociate them from your character and you'll still be able to upload their contents using the guild bank uploader.
Do this from
Admin > characters, click edit, then clear the "Associated Login" box.
